A little about public tenders in Ukraine

Taking into account the holding of Euro 2012 in Ukraine there is a growth market of public procurement relating to the construction of infrastructure for the European football championship (stadiums, hotels, roads, electrical substations, etc.)
In order to avoid of abuse in the market of government tenders, to creation of competitive environment and to defeat corruption, the Government has introduced lawgiving mechanisms of regulation of procurement process. Over the past five years, legislation and, accordingly, the rules in government tenders have changed a few times. The existing law of public procurement contains a provision on equal participation in procurement process, both domestic and foreign manufacturers, creating a competitive environment and providing efficient use of national finances.
Without looking at the specified equality of participants and the transparency of procurement procedures, the Ukrainian realities are different from other world norms and overseas companies rather difficult to independently enter in to the market of gov procurements.
